Haydn Violin Sonata No. 1

Whether Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) wrote Violin Sonatas or not has been a long mystery. Although there are quite a few sources that some were transcribed from his chamber works to Violin Sonatas or vise versa, Sonata No. 1 as it is called by Peters Edition seems to be one of the few works that could have been discovered as the original violin sonata and then later put into a Piano Trio No. 31 in G major, Hob.XV:32.

I will be premiering this piece at Settsukyo Saal (Osaka, Japan) with Mikiko Yamaguchi, pianist on OCTOBER 14 at 2PM and cannot wait to share it with you online very soon. It's a beautiful piece!
