Dvorák meets Saxophone
I have been extremely fortunate to be able to work with wonderful pianist, Mikko Yamaguchi at her music salon she owns, Settsukyo Saal in my hometown in Takatsuki, Osaka where it stands in the beautiful mountainous nature. During the quarantine, we have worked on several pieces of work by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Dvorak. Here is one of the music we have worked on - Dvorak's Sonatina Op. 100.
Getting to know about the life of Czech composer Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) and his 3years in New York which he wrote this Sonatina, the famous New World Symphony, beautiful Cello Concerto in A major and among many was extremely interesting as I was preparing this piece. Next year is the big Dvorak 180th birth-year by the way ;)
I look forward to publishing my soprano saxophone arrangement of Dvorak's Sonatina Op. 100 in the coming months.
